Derrick T. Billups, Jr
Personal Trainer • Group Instructor

Derrick transplanted to Downtown Nashville in 2013 from Virginia and absolutely loves this city! As a sports and fitness junkie, Derrick has been involved in either competing or coaching competitive sports for the last 20 years. The coaching hasn'tstopped since moving to Nashville. He now coaches cross country,  basketball and track at the University School of Nashville. Derrick himself was a standout basketball player at Bridgewater College, where he lettered four seasons in basketball and was team captain senior year.  Over the years, Derrick has become a sports and fitness enthusiast and is excited about helping children and adults of all ages to reach their fitness goals. He holds his personal training certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine with specialties in Suspension Training, Corrective Exercise, SAQ, Cardio for Performance, Cardio for Fitness and Core Training. Whether your goals are to alter body composition, increase sports performance or just maintain a healthy lifestyle, Derrick is here to help. He feels that as a trainer his responsibility is to provide his clients with support along with accountability. His mission is to help people push past their comfort zones and towards a stronger and healthier lifestyle.



Ryan Hartman

Ryan came to Nashville in 2012 from southern New Jersey. Ryan completed his undergraduate degree at Rowan University where he studied Health Promotion and Fitness Management. Playing sports throughout his life, Ryan then turned his passion for fitness into a career as a personal trainer. After personal training for many years, Ryan became interested in the other facets of health including nutrition. Ryan became a certified Health Coach through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and is currently pursuing his Masters in Nutrition from Maryland University of Integrative Health. Ryan loves helping clients find habits that suit their lifestyle and cause lasting changes in their fitness and wellness routines!

Jake McKenzie

Jake has a passion for helping others achieve their goals in both fitness and business. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science from the University of Central Florida in Orlando, FL in 2016 and moved to Nashville, TN shortly after. Since moving to Nashville Jake has joined Team City Fit as a Personal Trainer and Brand Consultant. With a background in competitive sports Jake's training philosophy is focused on improving his clients performance and helping them achieve their goals. Through collaboration and strategy there is no doubt Jake will inspire you to be your best self.

Alexis Jones

Alexis is a Nashville native, and retired competitive gymnast. She specializes in training that strengthen, lengthen and tone your body. Life after gymnastics left her pursuing workouts that are equally challenging as they are expressive and fun.  She has taught gymnastics and dance at USA Olympic Coach Bela Karolyi’s Gymnastics Camp and knew her passion for teaching movement of any kind was something she wanted to continue. In 2011, she certified in Piloxing {boxing+pilates fusion class} and BarreAmped and began teaching in the Nashville and Hendersonville areas. In January 2016, she began teaching Buti Yoga, which  is now her main focus as an Advanced Instructor and Master Trainee as well as teaching vinyasa and power vinyasa classes. Her mission is to spread fitness and wellness as a lifestyle to those looking for change, but in a fun, nonjudgmental, non-traditional way — away from the weight racks, treadmills and fad diets.  She is excited to join City Fit and help you develop a deeper mind/body connection, toned muscles, a stronger core as well as balance and flexibility in body and lifestyle.  Outside of teaching, Alexis is a graphic and web designer in the Nashville area. 


Etta Tawo
Personal Trainer


Etta Tawo is a former Clemson University Football Player who was known as a standout athlete early in his collegiate career. He grew up in Powder Springs, GA where he was an All State athlete for McEachern High School. While attending Clemson in 2005 he was named the “Newcomer of the Year” in the weight room by winning the annual strength and conditioning competition. From that point forward, his passion to strength training grew significantly.  After graduating from Clemson, Etta coached football at a number of different universities and has over 7 years of experience serving as a strength and conditioning coach. Etta comes from a family of athletes, so his passion and dedication to help others achieve strength training goals is what he strives for. Etta currently resides in Nashville and is coaching high school football while assisting them with strength and conditioning.


Phillip Hardy
Personal Trainer


Phillip has been involved in athletics a majority of his life. Phillip earned a degree at North Carolina State University where he also competed in Track & Field. The training journey started when he was asked to help coach the youth in summer Track & Field, seeing people achieve goals sparked a fire and he quickly decided to get certified. Phillip obtained his certification through National Academy of Sports Medicine and is currently pursuing a specialization in Fitness Nutrition with the National Academy of Sports Medicine.


Allison Bohn
200 RYT

Allison is 27 years old and born in Grass Valley, California. She moved at the age of 4 to Sarasota, FL where she grew up doing sports and other various fitness activities. Allison started practicing yoga after having soreness and stiff muscles from wakeboarding in 2011. She immediately fell in love with the physical aspect of yoga and love how well it stretched her out and improved her wakeboarding abilities. In the winter of 2013 she moved to Nashville, TN where she continued to practice yoga at various studios as well as at home practices routinely. Last April, Allison finished her 200 hour teacher training from Hot Yoga Plus in Nashville, TN where her love for the physical practice slowly turned into a need for the emotional one. She is so excited to join the CityFit crew and cant wait to bring some heat to your practice! 


Olivia Wyszkowski
Pilates Instructor

Olivia is a comprehensively certified Pilates instructor through Balanced Body. Originally from Philadelphia, she spent her childhood studying dance at The Juilliard School, American Ballet Theatre and School of American Ballet. Olivia has her BFA in Dance from SUNY Purchase College in New York and has danced with Pennsylvania Ballet II and recently joined the Nashville Ballet. Her relationship with Pilates began as a supplement to her dance career but has seen first hand how beneficial it can be to rehabilitation when suffering a major foot injury. Olivia has spread her passion for Pilates by teaching  at the After Breast Cancer program of Middle TN, Belmont University and Nashville Ballet. She believes Pilates is for everyone and finds inspiration in watching her clients become stronger, healthier and happier!

Janaye Williams
200 RYT

The best things in life are unexpected. 

That's how Janaye found yoga, on a whim during her senior year of college in 2010. She was initially drawn to yoga to relieve stress, but quickly noticed how this powerful practice transformed her body, mind and eventually - her way of life. As a 200-hr RYT, Janaye's greatest passion lies in supporting others to tap into their own limitless power, happiness and freedom both on and off the mat. Her power vinyasa classes focus on linking movement with breath to help students create true transformation both physically and mentally. Through each asana, Janaye encourages you to challenge your physical limits while also finding joy and ease in your practice.


Elam Freeman
200 RYT

Elam is a Nashville native, who recently returned after exploring other parts of the country for four years. She has always been interested in physical fitness, but it took many years of trying different activities to find her niche in yoga. Elam loves yoga because it connects the mental with the physical, and it is an activity that is accessible to all. Elam received her 200 hour yoga training and certification at YogaWorks in Santa Monica, CA. Since that time she has been given the opportunity to aid people of all ages and abilities in finding an active lifestyle that fits their own personal abilities and goals. Elam looks forward to working with CityFit Concierge in their efforts to help clients achieve holistic health.


Catherine Beals
Running Club Leader

Catherine discovered a fiery passion for running at an early age, but who knew that the sport would take her places beyond her home in rural south central Kentucky. Raised in a small town, Catherine found her way to Nashville in 2008 to attend Lipscomb University; during her time there, she ran cross-country and track at the collegiate level. She competed all four years (2008-2012) as a Division I athlete, earning numerous honors including Atlantic Sun 3K Steeplechase Champion at the 2011 conference track meet. Upon being selected as team captain her senior year, Catherine helped lead the Lady Bison to their first Atlantic Sun Conference Cross-Country championship in school history in 2011.

Since graduation, Catherine has continued to run, completing races ranging in distances from 5K to 50K. Aside from pushing herself, she also enjoys helping others reach their goals or get to that next level both physically and mentally. As an assistant cross-country and track coach at Harpeth Hall, she is able to do just that, focusing primarily on empowering young women to achieve through their athletic ability, but also in every aspect of life.


Alyse Meier
Trainer, ACSM

Alyse was born and raised in a small town in Michigan, and moved to Nashville in 2010 to attend Belmont University. She is a former gymnast and an ACSM Certified Personal Trainer who believes in caring for the body and mind through exercise and nutrition. Her passion for training was born out of the desire to help others maintain the highest quality of life for as long as possible. She loves celebrating what the body can do through movement of all kind, including high intensity interval cardio, plyometrics, weight training, running, hiking, walking and yoga. She is excited to partner with City Fit to make a positive impact on the health of the city!


Lauren DeBisschop
Trainer, ACSM

Growing up in Connecticut, Lauren was a big sports person, playing mainly basketball year round. While attending the College of William & Mary, she stay involved with sports by working as the manager of the basketball team. Majoring in Kinesiology, Lauren earned her B.S. degree and went on to obtain her personal training certification from ACSM. Inspired by her background, she loves teaching boot camp style workouts infused with sports training drills. Lauren is motivated to get everyone passionate about leading an active life!


Dawn Murry
STOTT Pilates Instructor, ACE

Dawn is a native of New England and moved to Nashville from New Hampshire in June of 2017. She is a certified STOTT PILATES Instructor and has been teaching Pilates since 2000. After teaching all types of group fitness for many years, Pilates became her true passion and she was STOTT certified in 2005 in Mat, Reformer, and Injuries & Special Populations in 2011. Dawn is an American Council of Exercise (ACE) Certified Group Exercise Instructor and holds additional certifications in TRX, Spinning, and Kickboxing.  Her work as a group exercise instructor and as a Pilates trainer has provided extensive experience training athletes as well as individuals with injuries or chronic conditions.  Dawn has a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Northeastern University and loves to “analyze” her client’s movement patterns and help them to improve their body awareness and perform mindful movement to reap the full benefits that exercise has to offer!

She has 3 grown children and a husband that all enjoy the outdoors and are avid hockey fans.  


Ginna French DuRard

Born in Greensboro, NC, but has lived in Nashville all her life, just about a native! For the past eight years she has been teaching and adding certifications, most recently 200 RYT.  She enjoys teaching high energy spin and bootcamps, lifting heavy weights but also relaxing in restorative yoga.  With 13 years of ballet knowledge to teach barre and flow through yoga, Ginna also competed in NGA/NPC figure competitions, winning one and top three in many others.

"Whatever class you take from me, I want you to know you are not just a person in class. It doesn't matter if you are a total newbie, athletic diva, or bummed because you have an can always do something to challenge yourself in my class.  The challenge could be physical or mental....don't discount that mental workout!" 



Connie Baker

Connie graduated from Illinois State University in 1994 with a Master's degree in Athletic Training and worked for Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. She has been doing Licensed Massage, after graduating from Cumberland Institute in Brentwood Tennessee since 2001. Connie specializes in customized massage with an emphasis on deep tissue release and injury rehabilitation. Acupressure and lymphatic drainage techniques are also Connie's specialties.


Sarah Jane

Sarah Jane has lived all over the  world. She uses these influences in her bodywork and classes, making them all unique and specialized experiences. She is from upstate New York. After years of practice, Sarah Jane decided to go to India to study yoga. There, she also studied Ayurveda and Ayurvedic massage (a specific ancient routine geared towards your specific body type and needs).  She then followed a yogic teaching position in Thailand, where she experienced a few types of Thai massage. After some time, she decided to come back to Nashville, a place that always felt like home. Here, she studied massage. Learning Swedish, Thai, prenatal, and many other techniques, she never looked back. From all of her body knowledge and experience from teaching yoga and studying many other massage modalities, she is well- equipped to help aid in the relief of most discomfort (or at least help you relax!). 


Lloyd Robinson
Licensed massage therapist / Yoga teacher

Lloyd has been a licensed massage therapist for 2014 and a yoga teacher since 2012. A self proclaimed anatomy and movement nerd he applies his knowledge of massage, structural alignment and movement therapies into integrative healing sessions for his clients. Available for deep tissue, Thai massage, and yoga privates.

Christi Bowling

Christi Bowling,MS, RDN, CSSD, LD is a Masters Level Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with 11 years of experience in corporate wellness and sports nutrition. She is certified in both Sports Dietetics and Adult Weight Management. She attended David Lipscomb University and earned her Masters degree from the University of Kentucky.  She completed her dietetic internship in Augusta, Georgia at University Hospital.  While living in Orlando, FL she worked with top level executives from around the world and later became the first Dietitian Nutritionist to work for Disney in their private clinic. She now resides in Nashville, TN where she has her private practice, Prime Wellness.  Christi prides herself on providing her clients with one-on-one personalized nutrition consults to fit their needs and help them achieve their goals. 


Dr. Jerry Lo
Spine & Strength - Chiropractor

Dr. Jerry Lo, an Illinois native, experienced chiropractic at a young age after sustaining a lower back injury while lifting weights improperly in high school. After this injury, he went to a chiropractic Physician for treatment. This experience set Dr. Lo on the path of chiropractic care. Dr. Lo graduated from Logan College of Chiropractic in 2012 and received his Masters in Sports Science & Rehabilitation. In 2012, he moved to Nashville and has been treating the greater Nashville area for 5 years. On his free time, Dr. Lo loves to spend time with his family, exercising and reading anything by Tim Ferris.
