Derrick was transplanted to Downtown Nashville in 2013 from Virginia and absolutely loves this city! Derrick attended Bridgewater College where he majored in Sociology and Buisness Management. At Bridgewater he was a standout basketball player, where he lettered all four seasons and was team captain his senior year. As a sports and fitness junkie, Derrick has been involved in either competing or coaching competitive sports for the last 20 years. The coaching hasn'tstopped since moving to Nashville. He now coaches cross country, basketball and track at the University School of Nashville.
Over the years, Derrick has become a sports and fitness enthusiast and is excited about helping children and adults of all ages to reach their fitness goals. He holds his personal training certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine with specialties in Suspension Training, Corrective Exercise, SAQ, Cardio for Performance, Cardio for Fitness and Core Training. Whether your goals are to alter body composition, increase sports performance or just maintain a healthy lifestyle, Derrick is here to help. He feels that as a trainer his responsibility is to provide his clients with support along with accountability. His mission is to help people push past their comfort zones and towards a stronger and healthier lifestyle.

Nathan has been teaching fitness since 2000. He started in a school setting as a P.E, Wellness, Weights and kinesiology teacher. Nathan was also the strength coach for all athletics at the high school level. He decided to leave the teaching field in 2013 to continue with fitness instruction through personal training, group training, and various classes. The background and experience has given him the knowledge to work with any age group or skill level to help obtain general to sport specific fitness/wellness goals. Nathan is a firm believer in implementing a workout program that includes proper movement preparation, injury prevention exercises and ending with static passive stretches for the cool down. Lastly, he have 25 years experience in aquatics from basic swim lessons to competitive training for triathlon or swim team.

Kortni joins our team as Market Development . Kortni was raised in Columbia, South Carolina and graduated from the Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina in 2008 with her Bachelors in Business Administration and Public Health Promotion, Education, and Behavior and a Master’s in Public Health in 2014.
Kortni’s professional background includes Corporate Wellness Development, Healthcare Business Development, and Healthcare Quality Consulting and Analysis and currently is employed by Vanderbilt University Medical Center as a Healthcare Quality Business Analyst.
In addition to her professional career, Kortni has been a group fitness instructor for 11 years with several certifications to include group fitness, personal training, physical activity in public health, and back injury prevention. Kortni was also the head cross country coach for several years responsible for the development and programming for all cross country teams at Cardinal Newman High School in Columbia, South Carolina and also led two adult women’s running groups in South Carolina. In her personal fitness journey, Kortni has completed a major goal of running a major race in 30 different states by the time she was 30 years old and completing more than 100 races since she graduated from high school.
Kortni’s philanthropic work is also dedicated to helping other’s live healthy lifestyles. She has been involved with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Special Olympics of South Carolina, Girls on the Run®, American Cancer Society, and the American Lung Association. Notably, she was on a team of volunteers to help get enough participation in the petition to eventually lead Columbia, South Carolina to pass a law that banned smoking in public places. She was chosen in 2014 as Columbia’s Health and Fitness Champion to compete in the local “Dancing with the Stars” competition hosted by the American Lung Association
